Here are the top ten signs that you may have adrenal fatigue. A lot of people don’t realize they have adrenal fatigue. Pretty much everyone in the western world has adrenal fatigue to some degree, due to our stressful lifestyles.
Before we go into the signs of adrenal fatigue, the following picture shows you the factors that can lead to adrenal fatigue. This picture has been taken from the book that I have recommended below.
And here they are the top ten signs that you may have adrenal fatigue:
1-Having real difficulty getting up in the morning.
2- Still feeling tired and fatigued after a full eight hours sleep.
3- Craving salt and/or salty foods. This is because adrenal fatigue stops the body from producing Aldostrone. Aldostrone is the principle hormone that regulates the amount of salt and water in the body. When the level of this hormone falls too low, sodium (from salt) is pulled from the blood stream into the kidneys and is excreted with the urine, leaving your cells starving for sodium, hence the craving for salt.
4- Needing to drink half a dozen cups of coffee in the morning.
5- General lack of energy, everything feels like a chore. Even when doing the things you typically enjoy.
6- Increased effort of doing daily tasks. Everything seems 10 times harder.
7- Low sex drive. This is due to the lack of testosterone (in both men and women) being produced in the adrenals because of the increased amounts of cortisol being produced (due to stress).
8- Not being able to handle stressful situations well. Even the little things can get on your nerves.
9- Taking longer than usual to recover from illness, trauma and exercise.
10- Mild depression/less enjoyment with life/increase symptoms of PMT (for women).
There are more symptoms associated with adrenal fatigue, but these are the main, typical ones.
